UF ALUMNI SHOOT FOR THE STARS IN TAMPA

TAMPA, FL – April 7, 2005 – University of Florida (UF) graduates, John and Marilyn Samaha, have done what so many graduates have dreamed of - becoming successful and prominent entrepreneurs.

In 1985, John opened Shooting Stars Post, Inc. (SSP), a digital production and multimedia firm in Tampa, Fla. As one of the most experienced and fastest-growing companies in South Tampa, SSP provides a full range of creative content, digital production, multimedia and Web enhancement services.

John, president of SSP, graduated from UF with a bachelor of art degree in History and a minor in Environmental Studies in 1979. He went on to receive a master’s of Fine Art in Imaging Art from the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Prior to SSP, John was Senior Editor for F & F Productions, a leader in live satellite broadcast television content, headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.

His wife Marilyn, director of client services for SSP, graduated from UF with a bachelor of art degree in Fine Arts in 1979. Marilyn works with clients across diverse markets, both on a consumer and business-to-business level. She is the point of contact for all creative briefings, resource management and final product deliveries.

The husband and wife team resides in Tampa with their two children and say they will always be true Gators at heart.

“UF offers so many opportunities to get involved,” John said. “The University of Florida will always be important to us. Once you become a Gator, you will always be a Gator.”

More than a digital production firm, SSP has an 8,000 square foot facility with more than 4,000 square feet of studio space, top-of-the-line digital recording and editing gear, and complete in-house production capabilities.
