Voices for Children of Tampa Bay, in partnership with the Guardian ad Litem program is marching on Curtis Hixon Park for the “Forgotten Children” campaign, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 9 a.m.

Join Shooting Stars Post in support for the “Forgotten Children” campaign. It is a march to create awareness of the 800 + abused and neglected children in our community who are waiting for a Guardian ad Litem to be their voice in court.

The Rough Riders will be starting the march with their Color Guard, Police Chief Jane Castor will be arriving by boat to speak at the event, and after the march, there will be a celebration with music by Full Circle Band, food, guest speakers and family-friendly entertainment.

Marchers who wish to sponsor a child will carry a life-sized cutout of a foster child (there are 800 of them!) which afterward will be staked on the lawn outside of the museum. It should make quite an impact to have 800 life-sized cutouts of children standing on the lawn in Curtis Hixon Park. This event is free, unless a participant wants to sponsor a child, which is $100.00.
